Dan Nash & Marco Farris

Dan Nash & Marco Farris

Dan Nash & Marco Farris are recognised as individual artists in their own right on the International Blues circuit.

Dan (Vocals, Acoustic Guitar) has built his reputation over the years in Europe, Asia and USA as an authentic proponent of all acoustic blues styles from the 1920s to the 1950s. His arrangements of the blues standards songbook are true to the feel of the originals, with an injection of his own self into the spirit of the stories that they tell.

Marco Farris (Harmonica), hailing originally from Sardinia, is considered amongst connoisseurs of the Blues genre, to be amongst the best harmonica players in the UK and worldwide. Not only is his grasp of the original styles and signature harmonica styles second to none, his own personality is infused with this to provide a sound familiar to blues enthusiast but unique to himself. Marco is one of the few remaining blues players outside of the US who can claim to have toured extensively with a renowned artist from the original ‘Blues Age’, Louisiana Red.

The combination of Dan Nash and Marco Farris is one of the few that can be described as electric …despite their whole performance being (technically) acoustic.

A performance so great it will blow your minds right into space!!

Brooke Sharkey

Brooke Sharkey

London based singer-songwriter Brooke Sharkey was raised between France and England, since her return she has released 2 Eps and 2 full length albums ‘One Dress’ (2012) and ‘Wandering Heart’ (2016). Brooke was featured in the FUTURE 50 article in The Guardian in November 2016 about independent artists doing it their own way. She produces her music and collaborates with band members based in and around East London. Her unique sound can be described as:

‘An introspective sound adorned with emotional vocals and sliding string sections that create a tense air of melancholy that few others can master so simply and so elegantly, Brooke Sharkey oozes a creativity that radiates emotion. She is a woman who bleeds artistry’ (Fresh beats)

We’re excited for you to fall in love with her voice! Check out more at www.brookesharkey.co.uk

Ray Wallen & Davide Mazzantini

Ray Wallen & Davide Mazzantini

One of our favourite local DJs, Tracy, interviewed Ray Wallen two years ago:

If you’ve ever been blues dancing at The Joker on a Wednesday evening you’ll know Ray Wallen. If he’s not singing or playing the harmonica, he’s watching. Enjoying the music. Taking in the atmosphere.

One of the things I love about Ray’s music is that he re-works so many of the songs he sings –  re-writing blues songs and giving them a ‘London’ spin.

My personal favourite is his Tom Waits/Ray Charles medley ‘Ice-cream Man / Hit the Road Jack’.

Just. So. cool.

Davide Mazzantini is well-known in the main blues bars in London, and has played with some of the most famous blues bands of the UK such as Rollo Markee and the Tail Shakers, Gentleman Tim and the Contenders, Jerimiah Marquez and the Blue Aces and many others. The sound of this acoustic duo is a mixture of black music, moving from blues roots to gospel sonorities. The songlist is composed by genuine Delta Blues, Chicago blues, old gospel tunes, giving an exciting show and reaching all tastes of audience.
